Vanessa Hudgens makes High School Musical fans very happy after the release of Phantom’s new video “Lay With Me”.
The music video is basically paying homage to High School Musical, minus Zac Efron.
Just a few months ago, Vanessa had teased her fans that the music video for her new song would be very nostalgic and it sure is.
There are so many references to High School Musical that fans freaked out. Nostalgia is felt throughout the video with the opening scene showing Vanessa wearing a lab coat and a red a red ribbon as she nervously sings in an auditorium. Just like her character Gabriella, Vanessa loosens up quickly and “breaks free”.
Everything, including the stage paid homage to the “Breaking Free” scene. From her looking over at the piano player who resembles a male version of Kelsi Nielson to the Phantoms sporting Wildcat red jackets.
Just like in Breaking Free, she takes off her coat and this time reveals a gold slip dress. But things get even sexier when she rocks the same bob hairstyle her character did and then changes into a black lace lingerie jumpsuit.
Vanessa adorably changed the bio on her Instagram profile to read, “THIS IS HALLOWEEEEEEEEN ☠️🎃 lay with me music video out now!!!”
And she took to Twitter to thank her loyal fans tweeting, QUOTE “This one is for all of you who’s followed me all those years. Love you guys.”
What did you guys think of the video? Was it good enough to hold us up until the High School Musical TV series starts streaming next year?
